Breaking: UN warns Russia-Ukraine war ‘will have no winner’


World body’s crisis coordinator for Ukraine laments lost ‘lives, homes and jobs’ as conflict reaches grim milestone.

  • The United Nations crisis coordinator for Ukraine has warned the war “has and will have no winner” as Russia’s offensive enters its 100th day.
  • Adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Kyiv does not plan to use advanced rocket systems supplied by the United States to attack targets within Russia.
  • The United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence says Russia holds more than 90 percent of Ukraine’s eastern region of Luhansk and will likely take full control of it within the next two weeks.
  • UN says it has confirmed more than 9,000 civilians have been killed amid the conflict and warns the true figure is likely “considerably higher” with ongoing hostilities making efforts to count the dead difficult.
