Ghanaian defender Baba Rahman has officially joined La Liga outfit Real Mallorca on loan from parent club Chelsea after spending the entire last season at Reims.
Baba was included in the Black Stars’ African Cup of Nations squad this summer alongside new Mallorca teammate Lumor Agbenyenu and went onto to play three games as they reached the knock-out stages.
He joined Chelsea in summer 2015 for a reported fee of 20 million euros. Since his arrival at the Blues, he left on few loan spells for the likes of Schalke, Reims and lastly Real Mallorca.
“I’m very happy to be here. I’m ready to help the club reach their targets this season and will give my all for the team. It’s great to be alongside Lumor here,” Baba told Mallorca’s official website.
The 25-year-old central defender will hope this loan period works out positively for him this time after returning to Chelsea following two loan spells at Schalke, and last season’s stint at Reims with the Blues apparently not willing to depend on him anytime soon.
