The story behind that tribute to PSG’s Thiago Silva at Glastonbury revealed

It was one of the moments of Glastonbury 2019 and we have a little more on Dave, Alex and that awesome tribute to Paris Saint-Germain’s Thiago Silva.

Alex Mann, 15, stole the show at Worthy Farm when grime star Dave called the fan up to perform the song dedicated to the Brazilian international.

Alex, who was wearing a PSG shirt and bucket hat for the collaboration, quickly became a viral sensation.

The teenager was so good that some questioned whether the whole thing was staged.

But at the Leeds Festival launch, event director Melvin Benn, offered us a little insider knowledge on that magical moment.

Benn revealed: “Everybody said to me (that incident at Glastonbury) had to be staged but it really wasn’t – it was just a fantastic moment.”

Dave is one of the big names appearing at Leeds Festival 2019. So, could we see Alex make a special appearance or will another new star be found in the crowd?

“We had him (Alex) at Wireless Festival,” said Benn.

“I think Alex is going round now saying it is Alex featuring Dave – not the other way round.”

Dave is known for getting fans out of the crowd to duet with him on the song dedicated to PSG star Silva.

When Dave appeared at the Leeds O2 Academy earlier this year he plucked a fan from the crowd to do the song.

You can watch below and decided whether this version is better than Dave and Alex at Glastonbury.
