Italy shuts Mineo migrant camp and tightens sea rules

The decision was taken a few hours before right-wing Interior Minister Matteo Salvini announced the closure of a reception center for asylum seekers in Sicily.
The decree will impose fines of between € 10,000 (£ 8,900, $ 11,300) and € 50,000 on ships entering Italian waters without authorization.
Since the populist government took power a year ago, Salvini has tried to prevent migrants from arriving in Italy.
The ports have been closed for lifeboats.
Now the ruling parties of the League and five Italian stars want to prevent NGO boats from entering Italian waters.
