Former Asante Kotoko and Tema Youth trainer, Isaac Opele Boateng now a sports pundit insists that the ‘Number 12’ video by Anas Aremeyaw Anas which is held in high esteem by many Ghanaians has not done Ghana football good.
On June 6 2018, undercover investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposed the rot in Ghana football with many referees and Ghana FA top officials captured on tape engaging in bribery which goes against the rules of the game and Kwesi Nyantakyi who was the then GFA President was shockingly caught on tape revealing how he could lead an investor to the presidency.
Despite the believe by many Ghanaians that the expose has help revealed the corrupt behaviours of football officials, Coach Opele on Asempa FM’s sports show thinks otherwise and believes the Black Stars of Ghana will be robbed in Egypt as a results of expose.
“The ‘Number 12’ video has not done anything good to Ghana football. We were expecting huge changes after the airing of the video but the hooliganism and bribery are still ongoing. To make it worse, people are going to the stadium with guns which is not good for our football ”. He told Asempa FM.
He added that “Africa had a referee who was on the verging of going to the 2018 World Cup but he was exposed in the ‘Number 12’ video and ahead of the tournament in Egypt it is these same African referees who will officiate our matches.
“They will not be fair to the Black Stars,” he added.
